R U Beeping?

Hi! I have had a guidant ICD for nearly 8 years and 2 nights ago something awakened me beeping..I thought it was the smoke alarm and nearly woke my husband-but that's loud and shreaking and the beeps I heard were very soft and there were about 15 of them. I'm still not sure it was my icd..too sleepy...does anyone know- will it beep again if it was my icd??? I'd feel real stupid calling the Dr. if it wasn't . Thanks for your input and suggestions. You are a great bunch of people.

low battery

Some of them make a low battery sound. Given the age of yours, I'd ask to have it checked, or at least call and ask.

...feeling stupid. The Dr. is there to answer questions. You don't have to talk to him, one of his staff should be savvy enough on PM's to answer that question. I have been chastised very badly for not calling in when I had something unusual happen. I told his head nurse that I felt like I was becoming a PITA because I called her too frequently w/ what seemed to be innocuous questions. Thereafter followed a blistering like I've never had before.

If you become a PITA, they'll let you know.

keep track

i would add that you should notice and write down any pattern to the beats.
Example: is it three short beeps, etc.

that may give them the extra info they need to know exactly what its trying to communicate.

Hi! Yes, your ICD can signal. One 8 years old could definitely be talking to you. Have you heard the same beeps as in cycles? An evaluation/answer by your medical care is appropriate, not stupid. Please ASK! Hopeful Heart
