Hi all,
I have had my PM for 2 yrs and have had some issues with SVT. I get my pm interrogated every 6 months and it usually shows that I have about 10 episodes of SVT. I went yesterday for my 6 month checkup and was told that in the last 6 months, I have had over 580 episodes of SVT. Big jump from the previous 6 months. Not only that but while at the dr, I was having SVT, my pulse was 171. My dr gave me Metoprolol and said that if we couldn't get it lower, he was going to send me next door to get adenosine (yuck!!) I have had it a total of 6 times and it sucked.
Last Xmas, I was admitted for SVT and was given 3 doses of Adenosine and was told I would get an ablation but when the EP came in, he said no to the ablation. Now I have to see him on Wed to get it scheduled.
In the meantime until I see him, I am on Metoprolol and Tambocor which is helping for now. All I know is that I want this ablation done and over with because this SVT is interfering with my life. I am a 30 yr old mother to 5 amazing kids and a medical assistant/EMT. I know it scares the crap out of my husband too even though he tries to act tough. I come home and have no energy at all and need to nap every single day. I can barely walk up my stairs to get to my bedroom.
History:
SVT

No they are not. I am just dumbfounded that I didn't feel the 550 times I was in SVT. I noted about a dozen times and wrote them down. Must be when I am sleeping I guess
I hear ya

Seems our histories are similar?? I had open heart surgery at age 25 for an ASD. Last year I was dxed with PSVT and had ablation it was also discovered I had a-fib/flutter put on profenone for the arrhythmias and monitored for several months. I was also having episodes of bradycardia and 3 sec pauses but only at night so they weren't too worried about it until about this time last year when I was really starting to get dizzy and other symptoms wrecking my life finally after an episode at work in January of this year ( I went tingly from waist up and effected balance for about 45 min or so) I went to er where they didn't find anything but wore a monitor for the next month where they discovered SSS. Received PM first of April abd still fighting the PSVT flutter/fib doing better since they upped the profenone but still.... Hang in there. Good luck with the ablation hope it helps you. I may be looking at another in the future

I was lucky to not need open heart for the hole closure, they went through my femoral artery. I hope you feel better soon and thank you so much for your comment

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
Hope it goes well
