Just wanted to clarify my question ... I'm wondering if the
Pacemaker is supposed to stick out more while I'm healing
And if it will start to look and feel less noticeable as
Time goes on. Thanks for answering

Where is it?

I think if it's under the muscle it will be less noticeable as you heal and the swelling goes down.
Mine is right under the skin and sticks out a lot.....you can see wires.....when my battery is up I'll have it put under the muscle.
It's all about how you ROCK IT! :-)

yes, your pacemaker will stick out while it is healing, or most of the people I know of had it happen. you are still swollen. if you are skinny like me then it may stick out after the swelling goes down. I guess the best thing you can do is ask whomever implanted your pacer to take a look at it. as long as it isn't protruding the skin and the site isn't hot, red, or oozing anything - you should be fine (that would mean infection and you should go to the ER immediately). It takes quite a while for it to heal completely.
Take a look in the Member Gallery - there you will find some pics of others who took pics of their chests.
I took a pic of mine. If you wanna see it, go into the Member Gallery, and type in Pookie, then you will see just my photos.....since I've been a member here since 2005 I have oodles of pictures, but just click on one of the last pages and you should find it.
Just give yourself some time, but good for you to question things:)
Take care,
Pookie

Mine is just a boring funny shaped lump!
Ha

I'd rather have a lump LOL. Mine literally has the outlines of the box itself and the wires coming out the top.
Not cute during bathing suit season!
You know you're wired when...
Born to be Wired is your theme song.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
it should

There are never guarantees but they almost always settle in and get less noticeable.
