I am new and wondering if others with devices - pacemakers play tennis or participate in other sports. When you do what are your experiences?

I'm not coordinated enough for team sports but I'm very active. I occasionally pick up a tennis racket or golf club, but I call it hitting balls rather than playing the game, I'm pretty bad at both!! I hike, ski, roller blade, do boot camp... anything I want.

Like Ian said...as long as you don't have any other heart problems....enjoy every sports that you like to do!!...you can do it!!!
I swim (love butterfly strokes) but not too often but I feel good ...sometimes I had to stop in the middle but who cares...I'm not competing
I have my own weights (25kg only) but I do limit myself to what I can lift (for precaution!!!)
I tried my bike the other day....I'm gonna do it again!
I have more energy nowadays....but of course if I want to hit the couch ( to sleep)....I also go for it....LOL

Hi shaybill Having a PM should not affect your ability to take part in sports at all once you've got over the initial few weeks of healing. I am a very keen tennis player . As it happens, I'm off to play singles in half an hour's time.
I tried to play 2 weeks after implant but quickly realised how important the left arm is ( with the PM ) even though I'm right-handed. If you can't throw the ball up to serve, it is frustrating . But after 5 or 6 weeks I was playing normally.
You ask " what are our experiences ? " ...well sometimes I win, sometimes I lose ; so NOTHING HAS CHANGED !
If you have a PM purely to stop your HR from going too low, which is probably the case, and if you don't have any other heart conditions which limit your ability to exercise then do every sport you want to ...enjoy !
