Hi i was wondering if you guys thought it would be ok for me to do press up and pushups or any excersises similar to those? Its been probably just over a month and a half since i got my icd. Im a 15 y/o girl and icd has been implanted quite deep so healing was abit longer but dont feel pain anymore if any of that helps. Thanks (:

Hi there,
Glad to see you are doing week. I was and still a fairly active individual and got back to those kind of exercises after about 10 weeks - that's not to say that it is 10 weeks for everyone. I too had an ICD implanted, under the muscle which meant the healing process took a little longer that usual, that said I still felt pain for a number of weeks. Your doctor should advise you though. Personally I would start if with some lighter exercise like brisk walking, maybe even light jogging! Whatever you do, try and take a measured approach - what's another few weeks (even though I know you are probably demented!) best from sunny Scotland....(I wish)

I'd ask Dr

Im not expert by any means, but a month and a half, sounds like 6 weeks, and what I was told was the first 6 weeks there are do's and dont's,one of which isnt raising or lifting arm on side of implant above shoulder height.
As far as weights go,and push up's,Id ask.
Just to be safe, doesnt hurt to error on the side of caution,I doubt you want to do anything to cause pain or disrupt your recent addition to your body.
Just my thoughts,hope it helps.
