Heart skipping beats

I had a ST Jude pm fitted in 2008. I have never been happy with it. 2 years ago I was taken into hospital by ambulance after collapsing in my local chemist. They dialed 999. I was kept in for three days then discharged. Last year I was struggling to walk more than a 100 years before having to stop. I insisted they checked me out again. The cardio department had me walking around the hospital, up and down the stairs and on a treadmill. My heart rate was 35 bpm. They got onto St Jude's for advice and did some adjustments and things seemed to be ok. When the did my annual checkup after I was back to square one.In the last few months my heart has been skipping up to 100 time a day. I have no faith in the hospital, my consultant or St Jude's. I told my consultant I didn't want my pm checked anymore and he agreed. I would like to go to a different hospital. What can I do as I have NO faith in any of them.

Hi Paul,

If you are in UK then look on Dr Foster website and find a competant cardiologist and pay to see him. £150 for one private consultation is all it would cost because his advice is all you want to hear. Someone who you can trust to tell you the whole truth.
I found my cardiologist through Dr Foster website and I travel to see him at the specialist hospital, because he gives me complete confidence. It is all NHS and his team are very thorough and nothing is too much trouble for them if you ring up with any problems and need reassuring. I have had my pm now for 2 months and have had a few teething problems but they are working on it and are very thorough and informative when I ask questions.
No one has to go to just any doctor, we have freedom of choice these day. Use it.

Line 4 should read 100 yards not 100 years, stupid me, sorry I am all flustered at the moment.
