and was surprised to learn that my pm was pacing 99% of the time. Glad I had it put in as my bradycardia would not have got any better. That apart all went well. Readouts are fine and show the pm is doing what it should. Battery should last 9 years so the machine says. Seems long given the amount of pacing but time will tell! Also got a copy of the x-ray of my leads in situ. Nifty stuff - grandchildren think its brilliant.
And have to say I feel fine. No pain from the implant site and no niggles or surprises. I had them up the upper rate from 130 to 140 and this gives more leeway when I am exercising. I've been shovelling snow today.
Pleased to be able to share good news.
Robert

it's only been 6 weeks and it seems a little early to be shoveling snow. just don't over do it. another couple of months on the slow and light side isn't anything compared to having to repair damage done by over doing it this early. does your Dr know you're shoveling snow? None of us want to appear more invalid than we are, but please don't jepordize your health for a few weeks. Good luck.

for your concern - appreciated.
And you are right of course - repairing damage is far worse than not having the damage done in the first place. Not a lot of shovelling - just enough reach the car and get the car out of the driveway. Most of my exercise is walking.

Robert

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.

Hi Robert. I,too, started with an upper rate of 130 and after much persuasion / begging and pleading had it raised incrementally to the present rate of 165.
We grand dads are often viewed in an ageist way and are given settings based on our age rather than on the requirements of our lifestyles so it is possible that 140 may not be high enough for you.
Yes, 9 yrs is surprising for 99 per cent usage and, whilst the machine never lies, it does change it's mind from time to time !
Best wishes
Ian
