Hi,
Just did my first run post implantation. Was gonna wait until the weekend but felt ready. It's been 2 weeks and 2 days since the operation and I have been walking several miles a day since the day after the operation, and stationary cycling since last week (inspired by TraceyE).
I took it easy and did 4 miles at 8min/mile pace. Quite a bit slower than my normal pace at this distance. However, it felt fantastic and I really didn't notice PM at all. I was worried it was going to jiggle so I concentrated on form and made sure not to leap over any muddy puddles ;-) The hardest part was not running faster. I am so pleased. I bet I have heavy legs tomorrow though!
Thanks to all those on this forum that have offered advice and shared their experiences.

Do you check your pulse while exercising? What is the safe range? If I am "paced" to top rate of 150 is it ok to go over that? What do you do?
I do now

I now wear a heart rate monitor watch. I too have a max rate setting of 150. I don't block while exercising though. During my runs my average boom is around 165 but it does go up to my measured max of 184 on some hills. I was told the PM won't stop this and I feel fine when it's above 150. They may increase the max limit at my first check I guess but so far it hasn't caused me any issues when I exceed 150. My PM mode is AAi/DDD. Rate response is off as my heart response to exercise is normal.
