One week ago today

This time last week I was still in the hospital after having first PM implanted. Today, after checkup yesterday, I'm sitting here at Panera Bread having lunch. Everything went well. I have no pain or discomfort (sure, the incision is sore but hardly noticeable) and feel great. Released to drive, restricting arm movement, and normal post surgery precautions.

My pacemaker is dual chamber Metronics MRI SureScan. I am 71 next month. I have Afib and on meds. No other health issues except osteoarthritis-everywhere!?

I'm happy to hear you are recovering well! I also got my first pm one week ago today, and I got the same exact kind! My checkup is tomorrow. I will be 36 next month and have a very rambunctious 2 year old son. I'm hoping tomorrow he tells me I can't do any housecleaning for a while still... :)

My guess is that you are in luck-limited arm movement and lifting. I was told no raking, shoveling, etc. for 3 months. Deppygore you are home free except for the 2 year-old son-good luck with that:)

Hi! Great news you are out and about. Your positive post should help many, especially some of the younger readers, struggling to accept a device. Maybe, the persistence of our arthritis masks some of our focus on just our devicies. Take care. Hopeful Heart

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
