I am training for the Stafford Half Marathon on 17th March 2013
by going on a 12mile run every Sunday,Wednesday and Friday.
with another 3 weekly sessions round the local running track
every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 10 x 1mile laps plus
a mile and half jog each way to get to the park.
Not bad for a 81 year old with a pacemaker fitted November 2012.

What do you do on Mondays ? I hope you're not sitting with your feet up ?

81 yrs old excellent, I am 70 with many years a regular weight trainer. Now looking to new exercise program running is good any suggestions. Best run ever for you an inspiration to me. Lee
Stafford Half Marathon

I am training 6 days a week , each day I Jog,Walk,Stagger 3 days, Sunday,Wednesday,Friday round my local area, and over approx 12 miles each day, in just over 2 hours.
the other 3 days Tuesday,Thursday,Saturday I go round the local park track 8 laps x 1mile, plus 1 and half miles each way to the park, total 11 miles.
Monday is my rerst day, but I spend it doing household chores and shopping.
My target time for the Half Marathon is to do it in less than 2 hours, people cheering my or laughing at my nobly knees will inspire me I hope.

Now starting my last few days training before the big day on 17th March 13
Sunday 3rd March, covered 12 miles in 120 mins.

Bilston- Moxley, Darlaston (Asda) Darlaston Green -
Willenhall - Bentley.
Monday 4th March. Shopping.
Tuesday 5th March Reedswood Park 12 Laps, plus 1.5 miles each way to the park, = approx 13 miles. finished off with 30 mins on the outdoor gym.

STAFFORD HALF MARATHON

Just a few more days before Sundays stafford half marathon.
Going to have a walk round it on Thursday to try it out also to see what they mean by only 2 slight gradients,
I know about the one it is 1 mile long and is about a
`1" in 6" climb to the top, must do that in 10minutes or less.
My estimated time for the run is 120 mins.

not bad for an 81 year old with a newly fitted pacemaker.

......................you are in good company....take John Burkhill..the 'Pram Man of Sheffield'..and George Combes...100 Half marathons at 77...one of our NOTFAST heros..we were SO proud to run in with George last year for his 100th Half. Promoting Club presented him with a smashing engraved glass trophy.
We will all be with you for the Stafford Half.
