Returning to "Normal"

My PM was installed Jan 18, 2013. I am 70 years old.
Prior to surgery I experienced many dizzy spells and occasional deep breathing shortness which become much more apparent stair walking and running. It has been only 2 weeks. since my surgery with one adjustment. Must recover another 4-5 weeks before starting work-outs again. Look forward to learning and hearing from all members specially those with a history of sports and exercise. Thanks you , Lee

Returning to normal

I had my pm installed in 2004. You will begin to feel like a new person and have lots of energy. Just listen to your Physician do not over do it till you really feel better. After a little bit you will be able to run, exercise and do everything you were used to doing. You will get back to normal and feel much more energetic than before. The Pm works fantastic with the new technology they have. Good luck

Hi Lee, I had my first pacemaker implanted on Jan 22. I am in Australia by the way. All going well, having my dressing off on Tuesday but the first visit with my cardiologist isn't until Feb 21. I'm taking care but will be glad to know all is working well. I too can't wait to get back to full speed. I will be 70 in July and was surprised to find I needed a PM at all. Bradycardia. Anyway I am optimistic for the future. Good luck to you. Patricia

Patricia,
How are you feeling. I am 71 July 17th this yr 2013 two more cancers. Had my PM checked via ph-line attached to home monitor the results excellent. Now able to lift arm move with no difficulty some slight dizziness and feeling slight very slight pain. I am not uncomfortable but watchful. I feel very strong but as yet have not returned to the Gym. Perhaps overly cautious. My son recently visited your country for two weeks suffering. All the best, Lee
