Hi. I just got a pacemaker/defibrillator kind of combo implant a week ago. Like most people I imagine i worry about every little thing. Yesterday I leaned back against a pillow on the couch and could tell I pulled something. It feels like some muscle in the middle of my chest and goes up into my neck. Can feel it in my back too. Has anyone else had that happen to them and should I be worried? My first checkup is next Mon.

I had a similar experience soon after my PM/ICD was placed. I said it felt like a grizzly bear tore into my shoulder! I hope you heal quickly!

.............................you have been cut open for your PM implant. Bodies dont like being cut open. Animals in the wild go and hide till they get better (or die). We humans think that a few pain killers and a cup of tea are all that we need.
Humans are not as smart as wild animals. You heal on the outside but inside there is scar tissue, and that is the price that you pay. Expect..'pulls'..'twinges'..'little stabs'...these are all normal consequences of surgery. My Wife had lung surgery at the age of 19....44 years ago still has twinges..often weather-related.
Sorry if I sound a little brusque, your concerns are ours too..I'm in Big Brother mode today !
You take care !

Thanks for your reply. I thought I pulled a muscle because I could kind of feel it when it happened. My implant is a Medtronic pacemaker with defibrillator. No other problems though except what is probably the usual tightness of the skin around the device.
