Is anyone willing to give some information on the positives / negatives of running with a pacemaker / defibrillator? I am a student at Georgia Institute of Technology going for a biomedical engineering degree and I am looking for an athlete with a pacemaker that is willing to maybe share some personal stories of their experiences. I would greatly appreciate any help :)

Hi - happy to help - if I can - just a weekend warrior. Completed a full Ironman in 2011, and still active now. Happy to offer any perspective.

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.

I wouldn't exactly call myself an athlete or even a runner, but I am very active and do run every day as part of Crossfit. I've been paced 100% since 1994 for congenital av block. If i can help, feel free to send a private message.
We have some members who do marathons and triathalons, some that bike very seriously. Hopefully some of them will say hi.
