newbie to the 100% club

Just had the Av node ablated and got the new St Jude PM April 16th. I am now 100% PM dependent. Due to a steriod drug I continue to have outragous high blood presure. I am having a significant amout of pain which I don't remember have at the first implantation 4 years ago. I wake up at night with pain from my shoulder to my waist, is this normal? The pain is stongest just inside the left shoulder blade. I do feel stronger but it is hard to tell if it is any better now because of the pain, and high BP. Any advise? You all have such good advice and I do appreciate it.

my doc. I had an AV node ablation& a PM inserted in 2000. Only pain I had was the usual achy feelings around the site of PM. Be interested in seeing what your doc says about this. Hope it passes soon.

Thank you and Janet for the reply. The steriod was injected the day of the surgery to prevent an allergic reaction to the dye use during the procedure along with Benadral. Because of a 3 hour delay in the surgery I had to take a second dose. I just have that achy feeling from my chin down to my waist. even my lower rib cage is sore. The BP meds have been doubled but will still wake up in the night with high presure and a headach.
I wonder if the soreness is from having 3 ablations in 10 months or paracarditis? Thanks so much for the input I will call the doctors in the morning.

blood pressure

Hi! High blood pressure needs monitoring and treatment, nothing to mess around with. Are your.cardiologist and GP both aware of all treatments and medications, including over the counter, you take and work together? You did not mention why you take the steroid. Is there not an alternative treatment for your high blood pressure if it has been established with is the cause? With your uncontrolled blood pressure and undiagnosed pain you have described, a medical evaluation is appropriate, the sooner the better. I hope you get an answer and relief soon for both.
