I am pacemaker dependent, just gone past six years this summer. I had my pacemaker interrogated yesterday and was told I have one year left, but he increased its sensitivity. Is it normal that I am feeling a bit "off/different" today, does anyone know?
Thanks much.

Let Them Know

I'm with Tracey,
Let them know you're not feeling well. They can change the settings back if need be. I've had setting changes that have made me feel better, and I've had setting changes that have made me feel HORRIBLE!
If you ever feel worse after your settings are changed, let them know as soon as possible so the can change them back or try another setting. Don't give up and don't be shy about asking.
Best of luck!
No faith

I posted for the first time on here yesterday. I have absolutely no faith in my consultant or the staff that do the pm checks at my hospital in Chester. I paid £1000.00 to see him privately and have tests done. He diagnosed me correctly with sinus node disease. Since then I have seen him once and that was when I collapsed in my local chemist shop called 999. Nearly every time they did my check ups I felt unwell after. It always happens when they slow down my heart and speed it up. This procedure is totally unnecessary. I have told my consultant I don't want them to do my check ups anymore and he is quite happy with that. In my experience once they have fitted the pm they are not really bothered. I have numerous health problems and my impression is the medical profession do not give a damn after the initial procedure. I don't trust them and never will.

There are a lot of sensitivity settings so it's hard to know what they changed. If you don't feel good, call and tell them.
