First Checkup - Done

Firstly thanks for the direct and indirect help from the forum members. I had my first checkup yesterday, 3 weeks after the initial procedure (and a few major complications).

Thanks to the forum, I was much more prepared for this and was able to ask sensible questions.

It looks like the complications I had, have now settled down and are unlikely to reoccur or affect me again.

The PM is working fine with an estimated 11 years to go (sure to change over time). Leads are fine. Settings have been changed, as initially only one lead was active. Now both are on. I'm pacing at about 30%.

Been recommended I take another 2 weeks off to recover, before exercising at the gym or returning to work.

I've been booked in for another checkup in 1 month (just in case) and a regular PM clinic in 6 months.

I now have all the printouts to wade through and try and interpret! There may be a few more questions ion there way.

Again thanks :)
Ian

Hi Ian Whenever I have a check-up I always feel slightly disappointed and I say something like " Is that it then ? "

I almost envy the people who feel them doing SOMETHING during the test. I feel nothing ! I want to feel my heart pounding, I want to collapse screaming on the floor, I want to beg them for mercy ...but feeling nothing is not very satisfactory !!

I am immune to the smarmy way they tell me that the battery will last 10 yrs, or any number that comes into their minds ; I always think " OK smart-arse , how long will the battery last in my torch or my golf-trolley ? "

.. and then they give you a print-out which may as well be written in Lithuanian .. thank God they don't test us on it afterwards.

Welcome to the club !
