Running the marathon in Midland, Michigan next Sunday morning (5/19/13). Will be my 30th marathon, but first since the pacemaker implant on October 2. Looking to stay around the 3:50 mark...

I'd like to add to Tattoo man's good wishes from the UK ..... 3.50 is a respectable time . The last time I did the London, 3 years ago I did it in 3.50 ; as you know, the halfway point is always around 20 miles ( halfway in terms of effort that is ! )

Best of luck

Ian

....................................I have checked out the Midland Marathon in Michigan. It looks pretty Uppy-Downy for a city race. It seems to me that Brooks and Patterson at M13 to M19 are the places to take it easy and the uphill finish is well worth keeping something in the tank for.

TJP, we have a distant connection in the shape of Harry Coulby who left my little Lincolnshire village to make his fortune on the Great Lakes...Coulby never forgot his homeland and funded a beautiful Village Hall and School.

Tomorrow night I will chair our Parish Meeting in that very Village Hall....so...from here to Michigan..

Best wishes

I have already made a note in my diary for the 19th. If you want to Private Message me your bib number I can track you on computer.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
