5 wks tomorrow

Hi everyone, glad I found the club! I am a 57 yr. old female and having a pacemaker was the furthest thing from my mind 5 wks. ago. Ok I think I’m past the shock :0). I keep reading that I should have all this energy, but I don’t. I have always had a lot of energy before my pacemaker, and I am self-employed and my work is physical and I do have to lift and stir much like cooking I guess, as I make lots of natural soap and bath products. I was told I could go back to normal activates but I guess that’s not doing what I do :0)
I am trying to be good, not too much lifting and reaching but finding I am frustrated and tired. How long is it before you really feel better? I have read that some of you have are still sore as well. Applying heat helps and a little massage in the shoulders helps.
I have some small bar bells
Is there exercises we can start to do to strengthen arms and shoulders or is it too soon?

I felt fine once they got my pm settings right. Initially I was too low, felt tired, sick, weak, but after asking for it to be increased I feel ok. I do anything I want to do, lots of walking, occasional running, drumming. I avoid very heavy weights, that's just a personal choice.
Other than this I do as I like, lots of stretching, exercise etc.
Soreness is still there a little over 2 months after implant, I just don't touch or fiddle around with the wound area. Chest pain which I had after surgery has all gone.
You will feel fine soon.

I think youre expecting maybe a littlt too much too fast.I know what youre saying,I was in the somewhat same boat, and honestly it took awhile.
Im coming up on 1 year in July, the 2nd to be exact, and I can say I am right now better than ever,I mean before my heart went k=blooey that is.I rototilled the garden again tonight, and I work out atleast 6 days a week.
At first though, even having been in very good shape,I couldn't do it,I think it was both physical as well as mental,as I had no warning either,I had 4 days to swallow the info that I was getting a PM.
If youd like to message me,feel free.I got tons of help here, mainly from donr, who's a saint!
Laura

Thanks
