Welding with Pacer

Hi all. I tried welding today. I had my pacer installed in Nov 07 and had not tried any welding since. It went great. I welded at arms length (pretty shakey though) and no interfence at all.
Just thought I would let anyone who was curious know.

Hi John, I also used to weld for a living, both MIG and ARC. I used to drape the wires over my shoulder and weld right in front of my face. I suggest you do not drape the wires like I did just to be safe. They make a very strong magnetic field around them, that could affect the pm. Good luck!

I work at a tech school and loved to visit the welding shop. Since getting my pm I have avoided the place like the plague. If you can weld, then I'll summon up the courage and step inside the door.

Welding

John,
I also started welding again my PM was implanted 1-18-07 and I found that by taping the leads together helped. I had some interference when the leads were apart, Then I remembered reading on this site about taping the leads to reduce the EMI. Stick welding has been OK. Try not to get close to the machine. I am a mechanic and I always get a large car or truck between the machine & me.
