Completed my first half ironman with pc end of September(second time total) after having it implanted end of May. No problems at all - except during peak allergy times - where from time to time I experience a light-headed sensation ...... last only a very short time but is a little worrisome.....any ideas, thoughts?

Talked to doctor's office today about, referred to it with fancy term and told me they weren't too concerned about it....am due to check back with him in a couple months and if I was concerned I could come in and see him sooner. Good idea about keeping track of times etc...now that everything can be traced.... ;)
thanks for the input, you really want a picture? LOL

I too am a triathlete (a couple of 70.3s), so with this ICD I wonder if I will ever be as good as I use to be :(
I was invited to duathlon nationals in Tucson this year (Oct), but due to implant (9/5/13) had to back off. Dr says I need 6mo to 1 yr off running/cycling to rest my heart...not sure I can committ to that!
So congrats on your accomplishment! Were your times/results significantly lower than pre-implant? How did you feel overall afterwards?

jackiem44-
My time was significantly lower (20 minutes or so) slower but not because of the pc - more likely the cause was not proper hydration on bike - such a beautiful day and the fact that I was truly enjoying the whole experience I just didn't drink enough on bike and started cramping on my run/walk around mile 6 - so ended up walking more that I wanted to but was so enjoying the whole experience so I wasn't too bummed about time difference...I was just so happy to be able to compete as I truly thought about not doing it as I wasn't able to train as well as I wanted to.....but lucky for me I don't have any limitations and with the weather getting cooler am hoping to get back in to pre-surgery shape soon.....

Super impressed you did an ironman!!! Wtg, please post pictures in the gallery. (I'm on a mission to see members doing fun, active things with their pm's!)
Allergies can make you lightheaded and dizzy, at least they do me. I'm sensitive to most meds so I have also reacted to allergy meds, specifically the caffeine in sudafed makes me dizzy.
Make a note of the day/time it happens and tell them when you get your pm checked. They can see if the pm was doing anything funky at the time. But if it coincides with allergy season, I'd start there.
