Hello everybody. I am new to this site, and have read many interesting posts...I had a Syncra three-lead pacemaker implanted Aug 6, 2012, which was set at 50 and 130. I have had three instances when I felt quite strange while taking my morning walk (I used to walk for at least an hour, but am having trouble getting back to that, due to other issues such as Achilles strain and cervical stenosis pain). However, part of the reason is because of these incidents happening; every time I increase my walk, something happens. I know I am being vague here, but find it difficult to explain. I feel "out-of-it" and it takes a couple days to recover. I am suspicious that whatever I am experiencing is because, on these occasions, I have surpassed the upper set-limit of 130. Any comment would be appreciated. Thank you.

I neglected to mention 1 VERY important fact: Your safe heart rate is 88 (or 60% of a target stress test heart rate. So strive to keep your actual heart rate while exercising around 88. This will give you the best work out unless you are on medications that will not allow you to get there. again, welcome! Bev

Your upper rate could be the problem as you said. But Medicines can make a big difference...Target heart rate for a 72 year old is 148 during a medical stress test (with medical people around you) but that should be to just get there. NOT to keep it up. . When you exercise you should always be able to talk or sing. Never mind what people think-Ha! If you cannot, then you need to stop. . Ask your EP Doc to check on that or anything else we tell you. We are not professionals (except maybe Tracey. Take it easy and enjoy your walks. Now a Proper WELCOME to this site!!! Bev
