A quick update for those who have not followed my postings.
I have had PM since is June 27 this past year. Fairly successful and returned to my running career (40 yrs of running) and had some success early, 24 min 5k after about 8 wks. This has been followed by a steady downward spiral and many clinic follow up visits with adjustments to tweak the settings on my Medtronic Adapta PM. I eventually got to a point where I was told they had done about all they could. I received a lot of support from many people on this site and continued to push with questions and research. Eventually at my suggestion I was sent to another dr a electrophysiologist yesterday. He and his nurses took one look at my device on their monitors and all started frowning and questioning how long I had my PM and when I told them 6 mths everyone was shaking their head and I knew something was up !, eventually I was told everything was saying I would blow threw this one in about 2 yrs at the current rate. They had to maximize the output in order get sensing levels we needed and that was even marginal. He scheduled me to have my upper Atrail lead replaced and believes that May be the reason they had not been able to find the PM settings to allow me to run comfortably at anything above a very moderate pace. I am so hopeful but guarded at this point.
I have read many of the posts, questions and comments about settings and leads so that makes me even more hopeful.
My issue has been I can go out for a run and after a mile or so of running comfortably something happens and I go into a anaerobic state and struggle threw the remainder of my run and my HR stays at 120 ish no matter how much I push or try to run threw it,,,,god bless you all and thanks for all the info and support !!!

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.

Just proves how we need to get diverse opinions. Wishing you all the very best. Be great to get back into your running. I play sport at state and international level, my PM has been the best thing ever. Now, if only it could stop my Afib.
