I am scheduled to have an AV Node Ablation in September. Reason is chronis atrial fibrillation no longer helped by meds or cardio version.
Had a pacemaker implanted on June 18 as an adjuct procedure to the upcoming ablation.
My question is, is there anyone out there who has any comments pro or con regarding my prognosis.

But I would seek a 2nd opinion. Is it getting larger? What did your EP/ Cardio say?
Hope you get some answers.

& have written about it here so if you want to look it up go to Search button top right of this page. Probably get more info there also. I am happy I had it done & feel a lot better.
Wondering what blood thinner you are on what with the hematoma problems? Hope it gets better fast.

They did the same procedure, after my, fifth ablation, they went ahead and implanted the single-chamber pacemaker, and I have had no trouble at all. Very happy with it - as my normal pulse was around 120, and more when active. I felt like I had been running all day! Last year I got a new implant and it is working great.
Good Luck.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
Hematoma post pacemaker implant

I had a pacemaker implant on June 18. About 5 hours after surgery my RN noticed a hematoma at the incision site. She proceeded to impair the growth of the hematoma by applying heavy pressure to the wound. Hurt like hell but did dissolve the hematoma.
At my 2 week follow up appt. nurse practitioner observed another hematoma which I had assumed was just swelling from the surgery. I was assured by my PMD that the hematoma would eventually disspolve. It has now been three and a half weeks after the implant and the hematoma (size of a large orange) is still there.
Anyone out there experience a similar happening?
