Hi Miguel, always best to listen to your doctor. I too am athletic; since my PM was placed last Jan I actually feel better but I am always aware of my PM and what the limitations are in terms of sports and weight training. It is a slightly slow process but I am comfortable with it, so long as I am getting good exercise. It's not the same but it's very good. Check your pulse heart rate stay away from fats etc. Listen to your body it has the last word. Right Lee

I'm 46 and on my 4th pm now. I am a klutz so I would not consider myself athletic but I am very active. I do boot camp 5x a week, hike or ski most vacations, kayak and rollerblade whenever I get the chance. Having the pm doesn't keep me from doing anything I want to do.
Ty Guys!

Welcome to the group. I just had my pacemaker put in in june so I havn't had mine very long but I am only 24years old. You said you were diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome when you were 37 I am not really sure exactly what I have the most recent cardiologist that put my pacemaker in said sick sinus syndrome along with a bunch of other arrhythmia he named but I have been on arrhythmia meds since I was like 12. I know my heart rate goes between slow and fast but it also kicks in and out of other things but I had an ablation in 2012 to try to help with some of them because my heart rate they said was going from like 40 to 250 in like a second but they named so many arrhythmia I lost count. All I know is I have felt better than I ever have my whole life since I have had my pacemaker put in and am thankful for it and am so glad I found this club full of wonderful people.
