chest pain

Had pacemaker put in 2 weeks ago. Have soreness across the whole chest. Pain goes from front to back in middle of my chest.
Also it is painful when I take a deep breath. Feels like the pain when I breath comes from my lungs.
Has anybody felt like this? I have an appointment in 4 days.

You should NOT feel like that 2 weeks out. Do you have a fever? This sounds like an infection or even pneumonia when it hurts when you breathe. You say nothing about how your heart feels - the same as before the implant? better? worse?

You are far better off being embarrassed because you go to the ER w/ "Nothing" than to not go to the ER & have the ER doc have to pronounce you dead later! (That is a quote from my Daughter, who is an ER DOC.)

18 days after my implant I wound up with fluid around the heart.

Make sure they do an echo...the hospital I was in performed all kinds of tests but not an echo, which would have revealed the fluid.

If it is and if they catch it soon enough you can avoid a hospital stay so don't wait.
