My cardiologist had me come in for a checkup after the first week.
My surgery was 23 July and my appointment was on 30 July. I also was told to make an appointment to see my primary physician within 7 to 10 days. This is requested anytime a patient has been hospitalized. I did go to my primary, but now wish I had made it for two to three weeks after the surgery. Anyway, I am a bit surprised that you were told to wait just over two weeks. However, this time frame may work out as it should be more obvious how you are healing, especially your external incision.
Of course, if you have any concerns, don't hesitate to call your doctor's office and ask to speak with his nurse. Many times, they will answer your questions, and if they feel you should be seen by the physician, they can make an appointment where you are "worked in" rather than wait for an available time. Good luck.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
