So I had my first pacemaker check Wednesday and follow up appointment with cardiologist today. In 3 months I only had one 4 minute afib incident (which I have no recollection of) and one 5 second v-tach incident (I did feel dizzy briefly while bending over tying sneakers in a self service show store). I am happy with these results. The Sotalol seems to be working for the most part. After 3 months I can honestly say I barely feel my pacemaker anymore. Just wanted to share my good news for other newbies who may wonder if there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Question for you..

I'm glad to hear things go well for you. I have a couple of questions for you: Do you have any side effects with Sotalol? And do you take it for Afib? Thank you.

They prescribed Sotalol for the afib that was almost causing me to pass out on the golf course. And except for one emotionally based incident at the beginning where I thought I was having shortness of breath, I have had no side effects from the Sotalol. As far as my need to keep checking this site even though physically I am fine, that is providing me security (I'm not alone with this) and a ton of education. I am sure I will keep checking in for a good long time.

Glad to hear it's working so well for you. We see so many bad things that having a person say everything went well restores my faith in the PM.
I used to repair computers and there were days I thought no computers were working anywhere. Of course, if everything is going OK I guess you wouldn't need to be on this site.
Happy to hear from you.
