I had a Pacemaker replacement done on Jan. 2, 2014. Previously I had a Medtronic KAPP DR for 7 &1/2 years with no problems. The reason I needed a pacemaker was that I suddenly went into "heart block" with a heart rate of 34 beats per. minute. An electrical issue where the top of my heart quit talking to the bottom of my heart.
It was replaced with a Medtronic ADAPTA ADDR01. The original leads were once again used. The new pacemaker incision is just below the old incision scar, and the pacemaker sits just under my collarbone on the left side. My replacement surgery went great, no problems, same day surgery, incision healing nicely, and I'm feeling great.
After being home for a few days I noticed that the area just to the left of my pacemaker towards my shoulder and down to my arm pit is numb. Arm and shoulder movement are OK. I will be seeing my cardiologist/electrophysiologist on Jan. 20th. I'm guessing a nerve was nipped during the surgery. I just wondered if anyone had experienced this after pacemaker surgery.

had PM replaced and a ventrical lead replaced on12/11/13. I also went from a KEPPA to the ADAPTA ADDR01.
I also had a similar feeling a couple weeks in b ut it is now GONE!
Don't give in and do no exercises and get a shoulder lock-up.
Good luck,
Cecil
