Yesterday I went for my 3 month cardio check up. I had my pm put in 7 months ago. I have complained of pain since the surgery but basically ignored. Yesterday he at least acknowledged that the pain I described is not normal. He failed to help me, but recommended a pain management doctor. I do not have much faith in this. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have had friends suggest an acupuncturist. Again, I have not had any experience with this.
So...any and all help is appreciated!

pain

I have two different pain issues. One is with the incision site- extreme sensitivity such as would happen with nerve damage. The other is more chronic. It is internal and feels like muscle being pulled away from more muscle, like it is being squeezed and pulled. It is exactly in the area of my pace maker and did not occur before. I guess Gotrhythm has a good suggestion about a medical university hospital. I am about an hour out of Orlando and there is one somewhere there.
thank you all.

You don't say where the pain is. I'm assuming you're associating it with the PM, and the pain is somewhere in your chest.. Whatever, the bottom line is this. You don't have pain for no reason.
Your doc is willing to say your pain is "not normal." I put up with Pacemaker Syndrome for two years before I realized that when the doc said, "You have pain but there's nothing wrong and your pacemaker is working fine," what she meant was, "I don't know what's causing your problem, and I don't know what to do for it (but I wish you would go away.)"
If there's a medical university hospital within 100 miles, I'd suggest asking for a referral there. That's what I did. They see all kinds of "not normal" problems that a doc in regular practice could go a lifetime without seeing. And the doc there diagnosed pacemaker syndrome and fixed it.
