Using crutches after pm

I had to use crutches for 7 days and did not ask cardiologist. After a trip to urgent care to get a boot,my chest hurt close to the pm. The nurse said I was not to use crutches. I have 2 fractures in my foot and ankle.
Anyone know about this?

Unless your pm is near your armpit and will be hit with the crutches, it's fine. I've been on them more than once since I got my pm, no problems. Crutches make everything hurt!! It's just muscular.

Ouch, hope your fractures heal quickly.

By about the third day, my back, arms and hands hurt worse than the broken foot! Feel better.

Thanks for advice. Yes I had a bone scan. I normally walk an hour a day so I really miss it. The boot does not match my classy clothes so I will be glad to give it up.

I checked on the knee scooter and found out the cost to rent was$300 and to buy $350.

I will treat the muscle like you suggested. Again, thank you so much.

One other thing

One other thing. Put my van into the cement divider on the freeway at 55MPH. Didn't do the van any good.

Plenty of muscle pain. Kept me awake at night.

Found out if you take a bath towel and lay it on the bed in the area where you have muscle pain and sleep on that it really helps. Laying on a heating pad can dry out the muscle and make the pain worse. So using a towel keeps the muscles warm and loose. You sleep better and the rest really does you good. Tylenol PM before bed to help you get to sleep. Tylenol because of the PM.

You can also use hand towels on the pillow to help the stress in the neck area. Don't get too many covers as the towels can really warm you up.

Hope this helps.

All depends on the date of the implant, actually I would not choose crutches perhaps a cane. Crutches are too close to the PM.

You know you're wired when...

You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
