Pacemaker in right side

Hi I have 37 years and have had pacemakers and 3 operations. For various problems they put the pacemaker in the left side and the last time they put on the right side. I wonder if I have any risk if I play tennis now that I have a pacemaker on the right side. Thank you.

Tennis w/ PM on Right

Only problem is if you get smacked squarely on the PM by a ball driven at 100 MPH.

That WILL hurt - OUCH!

Otherwise should be just fine - Question has been asked many times in here.

Just give the incision plenty of time to heal.

I have played tennis 5 times this week. It doesn't make any difference which side your PM is, but wait at least 6 weeks after implant.

I hope you win !

Right or Left?

Hi, I've used up both my left & right chest in 22 years of 6 pacemakers. My problem has not been a fault of equiptment or surgeons doing my implant as I've had them above & under muscle & have had 3 out of my 6 pacemakers erode. Having finally a top EP surgeon do my 6th implant he informs me that as I'm a skinny very active male makes me most eligible for erossion as there's no fat for protecting the implant. I know I have been abusive using my upper body which only made the problem worse.
Presently I am hosting my 6th pacemaker in my lower abdomen right side under muscle, the only fat protected area of my body to comfortably house my PM. I can now really say that it has been the most comfortable since this implant this summer. I told my EP, "It's good you didn't put my implant under my butt cheeks as I have very little padding there". He said at my age of 81 it would not have been practical.

You know you're wired when...

You have a $50,000 chest.
