I am an active 56 year old who received a double lead pm for av node re-entry and LBBB. I am so depressed from a comment I received yesterday from my son's teacher. I have struggled in the past with this. I don't know anything else to say except I am tired of reaching out.

.. comment from the teacher ? What is the ongoing problem with the teacher ?
.. what do you mean "tired of reaching out " ?
People will want to help you because you are clearly depressed and it sounds as though you were before getting the PM but we can't finish a crossword if most of the clues are missing.
Hope you pull through this !

I received the pm for complete heart block and syncope. The ablation was for SVT'S from the av node re-entry. The teacher didn't start out by saying oh, your son is a nice boy, etc. she just began with what he was doing wrong and me just out if surgery last thursday, well I was just sitting there and couldn't believe it.

It might be a good idea to schedule an appointment with your son's teacher. Tell him/her you had no idea about (whatever your son was supposed to have done or not done) and that you want to resolve the situation. Tell her gently about your health problem and that you don't want any stress. I had 4 sons, and often had to see a teacher about things. I found boys often got into more scrapes than girls, but not usually too serious. I found that a soft approach to a teacher was the best, and always thanked him/her for any help, even if you think teacher has not done the right thing. By doing this it put me in a good relationship with the teacher, and they usually did give much help. Try not to stress too much. I hope things work out, and please let us know how you go. Also feel free to vent to me on private message if you like. It might help.

As a 16 year veteran teacher my advice is contact the guidance counselor. Tell him or her about comment. Better yet copy email if possible. Tell him or her about your health and enlist help. After receiving my PM, my emotions were and "are" out of whack. I have no patience and everything seemed huge. As a teacher, I have also sent emails I regretted or simply were misinterpreted. Sometimes I send emails when I am very rushed and they come off as cold and angry when that was the last thing I intended! And of course the teacher is unaware of your health issues (I assume). I once called a parent who was in the emergency room!
Contact guidance counselor or even administration if necessary.
good luck!

Just got the pm last Thursday at Johns Hopkins. Had a bad faint oct 7 and received a big gash in the back of my head that had to be surgically closed. My doc said it was time for an EP study. Had an ablation and received a Medtronic. Have an emotionally detached husband. Too much to deal with all at once.

Unconscious Incompetence

Depression, tired, etc. All normal reactions. I had a couple of traumatic events and got along fine until someone would say the wrong thing at the wrong time. Then I'd go off like a rocket.
A lot of people don't know what they don't know. i.e. they have no concept of what you've been through and will say things that set you off. It's not personal.
Suggestions: 1) Do what the teacher comment suggested on this forum. 2) Get some psychological help for yourself. If you are aware of what sets you off you can take steps to mitigate the situation.
Hang in there. It does get better.

Some ablations are more predictable than others.
Are you on any meds in addition to receiving the PM?
Can you be more specific on the emotionally detached part?
