Thanks for your comments..I am 42 ...guess u r rite..for the first month i did not take BBs, but post checkup on the pattern/ the way i felt doc advised BBs for atleast a month..do u have a dual chamber or single chamber...seems from you post that it is single chamber (i may be wrong though)..i hv a dual chamber...and they have paced ventricles according to the atrial rate..
As i read through other posts, it becomes evident that the HR stablization may take a while as atrial rate may also settle according to the ventricle response...
Also, i do have swaying feeling at times..i dont know if it anything to do with PM/ BBs...would u have any idea..
Can u also guide me on the workouts/ sports...i havnt started any of them, though the doc says i can start but i am not confident as of now..
thanks for reading and helping..

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
CCHB

How old are you? I was 27 when I got my first pm for CCHB. That's a lot of years for the heart to beat out of sync so it'll take a while to get used to pacing and having a normal heart beat. It took about a year for my resting rate to drop to something resembling normal and stop shooting up at every little thing. I did not take bb's, just waited it out. I didn't feel bad when my rate was up, it was just weird.
Fast forward 15 years and my rate started going up again, only this time my atrial rate would get faster than the pm could pace the ventricles, and it happened every time I worked out. Not dangerous but it was really annoying and got harder and harder to get a good workout so I tried the bb's. I don't like them. They make me tired and keep the heart from beating as hard as it should so I don't have as much stamina as I could, but it's either take it or quit working out so I choose to take it.
I always avoid meds if I can, that's just personal choice. If the side effects are worse than what they'll cure, it's not worth it imo. A month isn't long, I'd wait a little longer. It takes 4-6 weeks just to get used to the bb's, then more time to come off them later. Your heart could settle on its own in that time.
