Discomfort and shifting at Pm site

Hi Everyone,
I have had a pacemaker since 2000 and am currently on my third one with a year or two still left on the battery. Recently I have been having discomfort in my shoulder where the pm is placed. If I move my arm a certain way it feels as tho the pm or something shifts under my skin (it's hard to explain) and it is very uncomfortable. There is also slight pain similar to muscle aches around the pm but I have experienced this before. The discomfort and movement is something new to me. I have been unable to find any reasoning for Why this would happen so I was hoping someone on here could help me. I have also lost weight in the past year and thought perhaps that could cause tightness across the pm since there is no loose skin around it and it is protruding out more than it has before. I'm just concerned if this is a complication or if it will go away on it's own. I have an appointment to get my battery checked next week but if this is important then I do not want to wait until then. Thank you.

PM Shifting

Hi Tash,
Your posting sounds very familiar with my past site problems.
Not everyone is built with muscle, fat & skin for an ideal implant. I was never told until 2014 that my body build & my being very active was the major reason for having 3 implants on my left chest & 2 under muscle right chest moving & eroding.
Hopefully your site will settle down but you will probably have to ease up with upper body activity a bit.
Check with your implant surgeon as others have had to have their site redone. My experience was under muscle was much more comfortable with my 4th & 5th replacement.
As you are really young I would not hesitate discussing options If you should develop more problems.
As I'm only one in many who now has my 6th pacemaker in my lower abdomen & it's finally given me complete comfort !!

Possible Allergy

I would also consider an allergy . I became allergic to the titanium case just randomly after 14 or 15 implants.
