lead noise

I have a St judes pm that was put in 11/26/11. Six months ago I started getting fainting spells several times a week. Visited Heart Doctor, PM Clinic and personal MD. All thought it was due to my blood pressure. This past Monday my PM technician discovered 13,000 noise events on my PM. I am now scheduled for surgery Monday to replace the lead to my lower chamber that they think is compromised. I am quite nervous! My PM is in DOO mode and I am feeling great because it is ignoring the short or noise. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. My first surgery was an emergency, waiting for a scheduled surgery is playing a little bit with my mind. Thanks for listening.

The waiting bothers me too

Yeah, know what you mean. But you gotta look at it this way. If it was emergency surgery and you died, they'd say, Oh well and go on. When it's scheduled surgery they have time to review situation and try to mitigate risks.
So you're better off when everyone knows what you have, how to fix, etc.

For me, the more I know about what they are going to do the better I feel. I'm not in control but at least I know what is going on. So I do research on what procedure they're going to do. Also talk with nurse to see if there is anything I can do on my end to help myself. It's still a serious situation but you've done everything you can to mitigate the situation.

If you look at the statistics, you sometimes are in greater danger driving to the hospital than you are in the OR. We think of driving risks as normal when sometimes they're a greater risk.

Hope this helps.

You know you're wired when...

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
