I had a PM put in just this November for Vasovagel Syncope. I was an avid Crossfitter so naturally I was concerned what the future would hold in that regard. I figured at first I would never again be back to where I was before. About a month ago after I healed I got back into it with a few minor modifications and some very patient coaches at my box. My modifications are that I don't use a barbell in the front rack position, bench press with a bar, or do burpees.
After exactly a month back my box did a few bench mark workouts. I am happy to report I had a PR on my nemesis, Fran (I am more of a Corssfit Total type of guy). The only thing was that I used two 35lb dumbells instead of the 95lb barbell. My previous time was 17:07 Rx over the summer but I did it in just in 10:10 now! Who knows maybe the PM was a help but just the fact that I could work out like I did before and still make improvements means so much to me!

Actually, I am a "Biotronik" man! :-)

I kind of think that my coaches are being just a little over protective by not allowing me to do burpees. But that's OK with me. I just do a sprawl instead. I don't feel like I am really missing out on anything there.
Awesome!

Way to Go! That's quite the accomplishment, especially so soon after getting your PM.
Burpees are not my fav, but my coaches know I can do them so I guess its too late to say my PM won't let me. Too bad I didn't think of trying to get out of them sooner!LOL!

Good on you. Another exercise freak! I'm a couch potato, weather I want to be or not. It's why I like to hear about you'll. Keep up the good work. Jean

You blew that one! LOL My pm doesn't keep me from doing burpees, either, but my meds make my bp too low so I modify anything up/down. Today everyone else did wall walks, I held a barbell overhead for 30 seconds. Same muscles, no upside down to make me dizzy.

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
WOOT!

Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fran is a beey-otch, right up there with Murph for my least favorite. How wonderful to hear the pm is helping your stamina. Taking off 7 minutes is HUGE.
I don't do burpees either. Well not more than 8-10, that's when my bp tanks and the world starts to spin. I do use the bar in the rack position, my pm is pretty low so the bar is nowhere near it. I love how the coaches make it work. If we want it badly enough, they come up with a way to make it happen.
