TENS equipment

I am 48 years old and was recently fitted with a dual chamber pacemaker ; so far, it seems that things are going well ; prior to my operation, I used to complement any fitness work that I did by using a TENS body toning machine.
could anyone please inform me whether it remains OK for me to use such machine's, after my pacemaker implantation. I would be grateful for any tips and suggestions.....

Be Aware of What You Are Playing With

In most States to obtain a T.E.N.S. Unit you need a prescription from a doctor or physiotherapist.

I use my T.E.N.S. for pain relief. I was told never to use it again, because it would interfere with my cardiac device.

T.E.N.S. Units do not tone anything, they just zap the nerves in the area where you have applied the electrodes..Physically working the muscles is what tones you, not little shocks.

If you are playing with the T.E.N.S. for fun and many kids do I suggest you stop the practice.

Pretty sure we're not supposed to use them.

Tens

Not sure about pacemakers but I know with my ICD I have been told absolutely no tens. Do you have a toll free number for your manufacturer? They can probably tell you best.

Nope

We aren't to use anything that pushes a current through our bodies. This includes TENS units & scales that calculate body fat. The electrical current can screw up the signal from the PM.

You know you're wired when...

Your old device becomes a paper weight for your desk.

Life does not stop with a pacemaker, even though it caught me off guard.
