Today Eat Crow :-P

Who would have thought that walking around a track and doing only 2 mph on the treadmill would be harder than just walking around the house and up and down the stairs?! It must be the lights and the weight of the shoes. lol I can see that I need to do small periods of moderate walking about 3-4 times a day before I graduate to the stuff I could do before the PM implant, especially since I had dropped back on exrcise about 2 months before that due to being dizzy. My dizzyness is all gone. (Knock, knock on wood) Baby steps!! The good news is that I tried on my swimming suits for the upcoming vacation out of the snow, and the scar is no problem. You can hardly see it even up close.

Hang in there!

It's rough at first, but it does get easier. You've got a new PM to keep the heart going. Now to get the muscles back in shape. Just keep going steadily at it and soon you'll be jogging around the track.

Sounds like you're doing this yourself. If so, make a chart so you can track your progress.

Hope everything goes well. Keep us posted.

Some concrete data...

...for a flute toter: A lifetime ago, not in a Galaxy Far away, I was sitting in my Cardio's office w/ my Good Wife awaiting the Great Man for HER appt. The door opened & he swept in, white coat flapping in the breeze.

He shakes my hand & says "Don, we gotta talk." But, Doc - it's HER appt," retorted I (or me, whichever). To which he replies - "No. I have to talk to YOU!" And proceeds thusly. Don, you just got out of the hosp & my spies tell me that you aren't recovering well from your evisceration surgery. How many days did you spend in bed? (15 was the answer). How old are you? (76 - sound like anyone you know?) Well let me tell you - plan on 4 days of recovery time for every one day you spent in bed. That's 4 days for each AFTER you get back to some decent level of activity that does not consist of an afternoon nap & just sitting the rest of the time.

You spent 2 months at a low level of activity pre -PM. DON'T expect to get back to your normal level of exertion instantaneously. You were not bed ridden, but your level of exertion really went to moribund for two months.

Working towards a goal helps a lot, enjoy the vacation. You be walking on the beach or around the pool in no time.

Sorry, I put your 1st reply in the wrong place. BTY Who that we know is 76? That's only cronological, Mentally I'm 55. The rest of my body just hasn't gotten the message. Another 6" of snow here. It will be exercise just pulling my booted feet in and out of the snow to get to church.

You know you're wired when...

You can feel your fingers and toes again.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
