Received my PM March 25. Wondering how long for the swelling to go down? Had my first check up last Friday and the doctor said it looks good.

I'm Still Swollen Too

but it's been over 3 months. Everyone is different and my swelling is minimal. In fact, it may just be a "bulge" from the device; I don't really know. I can easily feel my PM along the top under my skin but not on the bottom at all. I am fair skinned and my scar is still red and purple as well. I think it will all settle down - given enough time.

Have you tried a heating pad? Months after one of my replacements, I mentioned to the nurse that it was still a little swollen. She said 15 min heating pad on low, did it twice and swelling went away.
Everyone's skin is different but my scars take about a year to get flat and white.

I had my PM inserted March 24th 2014, although the actual incision site looks clean and good I still have swelling and pain around the area, I was wondering the same thing, how long? looks like the average is about 4-6 wks, I wish you a speedy recovery.

We're all different, but 4-6 weeks is average for the swelling and residual pain to go away. Ice and/or heat may help. I did ice early on, then later heat felt better.
