Thanks everyone for responding to my message doubting my decision to get a pm. Haha...like there was really any choice. I am relieved that I won't hurt myself or anyone else. Once I realized I was in danger, I felt uncomfortable doing anything..I was so worried. now I barely think about my pm. So...I guess it's my new reality.
I know this sounds ridiculous but being so young, 51, I wonder if I am going to have issues with scarring in my veins..since the pm is going to be with me for longer than the average person who gets a pacemaker. .I asked the doctor and he did say there could be complications. Anyone have such complications from having the leads in so long?
I am a worrier..sorry if this is a dumb thing to think about.

Everything *can* have complications, doesn't mean it will. I'm a few years younger than you at 47, in May I will have been paced for 20 years. I've never had a problem.
When we think about clogging it's usually associated with arteries, which go away from the heart and circulate the blood around the body. The leads are in our veins, which go into the heart. Yes, scarring can build up but it's unusual for it to be a problem and there is a laser procedure that can remove it if it becomes an issue. But most of the time you hear someone having the laser it's because a lead went bad and needs removed, not because the scarring is an issue.
You can mark this off your list of things to worry about :)
