who pays for infection

i am 67 yo and have medicare and a secondary insurance policy. On very short notice in the er a great doc put in a pacemaker that got infected day 3.
we, me and the doc, about taking this out and relocating a new one to the right side after dealing with the infection.'

Who pays for this second attempt??? What have others done?

Unfortunately, I don't have any information for you. I would expect your insurance to cover it, but don't know for sure.
