I do have afib. One clot just below arm pit in left arm. Very painful. Other is in chest where wires enter vein to heart. Really didn't understand why this time they were not prepared. Had 2 pacemaker implanted last year along with 3 other heart operations and always while in hospital given shots in stomach very painful ones. But had nothing this time. Appointment with oncologist to have blood tests this week. Thanks nice niecey.

Two weeks after getting my pm I noticed enlarged jugular vein and swelling in left arm. Doctors found 2 blood clots at the site where the wires go into the vein. I am on xaralto for Afib for the long term. I have permanent narrowing where the wires enter but now have collateral veins in the area to make up for the restriction. Never experienced any pain with this condition. My jugular vein still pops out a bit when I bend over and when I put pressure on my chest but my doctor doesn't think it is of concern. I am still very active but get tired, probably from the bisoprolol. Life goes on...

I didn't have an ablation but I had a PM inserted on Christmas Eve last and developed a blood clot in the left armpit (same side as pacer).
So long as you're on Xarelto, you should be fine. I would suggest that you keep moving but don't rub your arm where the clot is. After a few weeks, they will probably take you off the blood thinner unless they think you're at risk for another clot or that you develop or have aFib.
I was afraid to go off the blood thinner in all honesty but I've been taking a baby aspirin dose every night and have been fine. Since you actually got 2 clots (that's impressive) they may have you see someone that will test you for various clotting factors in your blood.
Please keep us posted. My prayers are offered for a fully recovery.
