I just received my remote transmission report from EP dept. they state " your device is functioning within Normal Limits"
I desire optimal function and wonder about within normal limits?
I have appt with cardiologist Friday and would like to have questions regarding this to ask him.
I had battery replaced last July and have only had remote transmission checks... Not one yet in office.
Any feedback appreciated. I also have read about rate response etc... just want optimal functioning. There are times my energy seems low and I question the optimal part.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

That's just a term to mean it's working properly. Optimal is subjective and different for everyone. My personal definition of optimal is I can work out hard, and they tweak what they can to get a longer battery life.
Can you be specific about low energy? A thousand things can cause low energy so they're likely to brush you off without specifics. Is it overall or when you work out or ... ?
Why do you have the pm? You may not even need rate response. If you do use rate response, it's optimal when your rate goes up appropriately on exertion but not unnecessarily other times.
