Hi all ,
I was just wondering while the PM techs are trying to fine tune my setting am I chasing something that is drug related and not really a PM problem. Could my odd feelings be brought on by medication as I`m sure we are all on some sort of drug because of the PM or heart related problems ?
I`m particularly interested in peoples reaction to Furosemide?
I`ve been active in sports all my life(now 67) and wonder why I`m prescribed this duretic when now fairly healthy and active and not over weight.
Cheers mg

Furosemide can cause people problems.
You did NOT tell us what other meds you are on, so it's a hard question to answer. You also gave no hint as to why the Dr. is trying it out.
Sometimes they give it alone to treat mild hypertension to avoid other more powerful meds w/ potentially messy side effects.
Our Cardio tried it on my wife & it drove her nuts w/ aching joints & itchy, blotchy skin.
What he did NOT check on was her allergy to Sulfa drugs. She has been allergic to them all her life. Not many people have this reaction to sulfur in meds.
Guess what!!!!! lasix has sulfur in it. They tried several other diuretics , all had sulfur, all caused the same reaction.
Our #2 Daughter, the ER Doc took a sulfa antibiotic & broke out in the same type reaction & went to work one night & the entire ER crew looked at her & started laughing & commenting that she had the sulfa reaction, which is classic.
If you have anything like that happen, suggest you mention the sulfur potential for a reaction.
Just sayin'.....

Hi,
I cannot comment on your specific medications, but not all of us are taking drugs. Yes, I have a heart CONDITION, which is totally an electrical problem and I am not taking any drugs whatsoever for it. My PM is there for that. I think you should check with your doc or your pharmacist as maybe it has something to do with another health issue and not your heart.
Good luck!
