Hi. Overall have had a rough month, had to be admitted to the hospital twice. In total I was only out of maybe 5-6 days in October. First had trouble with persistent hypotension owing to increased Carvedilol trying to suppress PVCs. Then I went back for severe abdominal pain which the gastroenterologist said was due to ischemic injury to my liver from cardiac decompensation. Add to that my allergic rhinitis flared up yet again while I was in hsopital. So easy to trivialize hay fever but when I get it my nose is completely blocked and I get a persistent postnasal drip and cough. Could hardly breathe in peace last last weekend.
My gastroenterologist noted that I get very diaphoretic (excessively sweaty) even when it wasn't warm. I had noted it before but it got worse the past few months when I started to decompensate. I have been to an infectious disease specialist who says it is not an infectious process. Cardiologist just told me its due to inc sympathetic firing. My GI was worried enough to speak to him directly about it though, and I would be glad to be relieved of this sweating as I find it very socially undesirable much like coughing.
Would like to know if anybody has any experience with this and how it ws resolved. A rare cause might be pheochromocytoma but none of my doctors have ever suggested it. Other usual causes are cardiac in nature, like an AMI or coronary insufficiency.
