Can a St Jude PM be adjusted remotely by cell phone? If so can the user do this? I would like to increase the sensitivity of the accelerometer before cycling. It only paces me up to 75 BM, like a brisk walk. The rest comes from my natural heart, which only gets up to about 105 on a mountain bike. Tapping on the device doesn't do much.

No, you cannot make any adjustments via remote monitoring. Remote monitoring is only capable of transmitting data. And even if one could, you'd not be allowed to do this as a patient. I'm often in touch with the head of the Technical Service at Biotronik here in Berlin, and not even he is allowed to make any changes to my pacemaker, if I would visit him. Only my cardio is allowed to do this.
I totally understand your problem - been there, done that. One day I asked the manufacturer of my last pacemaker model, if it would be possible for me to get a programming device, so that I could change the rate response settings before exercising, and change them back afterwards. You should have seen the look on his face! Haha!
If I have learned one thing about rate response sensors, it's: You've got to make compromises. The one setting that's just perfect for daily life activities, is not perfect for exercising; and the one that's perfect for exercising is not for daily life. With the pacemaker I have now, with a CLS sensor, it has got a little bit better, but it's still not perfect.
Talk to your cardio and the tech, maybe they can help!
You know you're wired when...
You invested in the Energizer battery company.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
That's Why...

We have Doctors. I wouldn't want to be able to change the settings with my cell phone. If the user could do it....so could others. That could cause a lot of chaos, not to mention patients playing with their settings and not knowing what they are doing.
Best left to the professionals. Speak to your Doctor or tech for adjustments.
