1st implant anniversary today.
In that year I have run the London marathon 3:37 (pb by 22 minutes) and 3 half marathons the most recent being Cardiff in 1:33:37 which at 64 seems ok.
That's the self praise bit but the reason for posting is to say thank you to those members who gave me guidance during those difficult first few weeks and months.
Without your guidance and encouragement I would not have challenged the hospital who were saying 6-8 weeks with no running. Which would almost certainly have scuppered my plans to run London and probably resulted in depression to which, without running I remain prone.
Nor would I have gone back to them and asked and eventually insisted that they turn off the "motion control" which had me breathless and my HB racing when I walked the dog to the top of the street.
Perhaps more importantly was the support it gave my partner when I announced my plans to restart running.
Many many thanks and good wishes to all

May I ask, if you have run those races with rate response switched on or off? I remember that it seemed like you do not need it since you only had slow rates and pauses when being at rest. Still looking for a runner who runs with rate response on and high dependency on this feature.
Thanks!

That is fantastic!! I am not a long distance runner, but I get the depression part if I don't run. Keep up the great work!

It made a HUGE difference in my life. Once I got it, I was finally able to run, and ride my bike long distances.

Great to hear from you again Nick and congrats on your times .
1:33 at Cardiff is very impressive,I bet there were lots of people behind you.
You prove that "how we feel" when we exercise is far more important than their pre-conceived ideas of the PM settings which they think we should have !
