Magnetic resistance excercise machines

I am thinking of getting a recumbent excercise bike with magnetic resistance. Should I be concerned with it affecting my pacemaker? I tested it using a compass and there was no needle deflection at all.

I've used them with no problems. If it's going to affect us, the magnet usually has to be 1) very strong and 2) less than 6" from our device.

Use one all the Time...

...w/o any ill effect. Go 3 - 4 miles on one three times a week w/o problems.

Have at it!

I've used them with no problem.

Like Tracey said, try out a floor model in the store.

Hi!
I just got one about a month ago and have had no problems with it interfering with my pacer.

Good luck to you!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
