I am a 54 year old male who, on 12/16/14, got a Metronic pacemaker implanted at the Cleveland Clinic. Today, I go for my first interrogation. I have ordered a shirt that has a protective device that is supposed to protect my pacemaker. The docs at the CC have told me after 6 weeks, no problem with playing basketball. I have been biking and next week, I start swimming again and then I move to basketball. Any help/comments would be welcome. Thank you.

Protective Shirt

33 yo male. Last month I got right back into basketball after waiting 6 weeks. Only issues that I've had so far playing ball is just getting 100% of the movement back in my shoulder. I tried two different shirts evo shield recoil shirt and the pace guard. Both work fine, but I like the evo shield covering more of the area. The pace guard can push on sore areas. What kind of protection did you get?

Activities after PM

Glad you will be back to your normal activities soon. I wondered how you have been biking if you live near Cleveland as it has been really cold and snowy. But good for you! I play racquetball and started 5 weeks after surgery. I ordered the pad that goes on a bra strap for protection but don't wear it anymore. It is more common to get hit from the back in rball. I am going to Cleve Clinic in Feb. and hope they can fix my settings. Went from 69% pacing to zero after a setting change. Yet, still have the HB as before the PM about nice a month when HR gets over 150 or 160 biking uphill. I don't feel faint and can continue biking during a block so I wish I had never gotten this PM. I hope you have better success!
