A Great Day!

Hi everyone! Got my PM 5 wks ago tomorrow. Had an interrogation today & then saw the EP, who is happily releasing me from all restrictions at work, with a stern admonition to ease back into going 110% again.
The EP was really pleased with my report, didn't want any adjustments, cut the flecainide by half since I had no Afib (woo-hoo!) and told the nurse to schedule me for a checkup in 6 months!
The Medtronic guy who did the interrogation was great and cheery. He explained a few things, told me my pacemaker was doing a phenomenal job, willingly ran me my own strip/copy of my report, talked pig breeds & pork w/ me, then wished me well. One time during the visit, though, he looked down at the report in his hand again, then right at me and quietly said, "You know, you REALLY needed this pacemaker." I choked up and nodded and then made certain to express my gratitude to my doctor for the new chance I've been given. Thanks to you all for being here to help me on my journey and let me ramble : )

As long as ...

he doesn't insist on talking about pig breeds and pork with every patient , it may not have universal appeal !

Glad it's going so well Tarzan; (sorry you're NOT Tarzan, you're Jane !)

Cheers

Ian

That's wonderful!

It's great to hear such a good report. I'm jealous about your tech guy. He's a keeper too.

Isn't it great?

Isn't it great when the tech guy can do something other than stare at the screen and mutter to himself? At least he isn't treating you like you're about to go to market.

Glad everything is going good for you. Hope it remains that way.

"You guys" are great!

Enjoying all the smiles sent from you. I know my EP is a genius, as everyone in-the-know here has told me, and I also recognize that his staff are gems. Working with/for Dr. Hwang is evidently highly sought after, so he gets 'the pick of the litter!' I was a military dependant spouse from 1980-to 1990, when AF medical care was still substandard; I have my share of incompetent care stories, like most people, so I truly rejoice in my good fortune nowadays. Nice to share and hear back from others who can relate.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
